Sundays at the Carpet House
In the summer in Detroit, a stage sits on a vacant lot off the corner of I-94 and I-75. Every Sunday afternoon, a band brings the stage to life while folks set up their grills, kick back, and get down on the dance floor. It all began nearly 30 years ago as John’s Carpet House, a speakeasy for old friends to enjoy the blues. Now it’s morphed into a weekly reunion in Detroit where everyone is family.
